The slurry pump impeller is a vital component of a slurry pump and plays a key role in the pump's operation. It is typically located at the center of the pump and is responsible for imparting energy to the slurry, generating the necessary centrifugal force for transportation.
Material: Impellers for slurry pumps are commonly made from wear-resistant materials to withstand the abrasive nature of the slurry. Common materials used include high-chrome alloys, rubber, polyurethane, and ceramic. The choice of material depends on the specific application and the level of abrasion and corrosion resistance required.
Impeller Types: Slurry pump impellers can be classified into several types based on their design and application:
Open Impeller: This type of impeller has vanes that are open on both sides, allowing solids to pass through easily. Open impellers are suitable for handling slurries with large particle sizes and high concentrations of solids.
Semi-Open Impeller: Semi-open impellers have vanes that are partially enclosed, with one side open. They strike a balance between allowing solids to pass through and providing some level of wear resistance.
Closed Impeller: Closed impellers have vanes that are fully enclosed, forming a solid front and back. They are more wear-resistant but may be less suitable for handling large solids.
Wear Protection: Slurry pump impellers often incorporate wear-resistant features to prolong their lifespan. These can include replaceable wear plates, hard coatings, or the use of materials with inherent wear resistance, such as high-chrome alloys or rubber.

Tobee supplied the High chrome alloy parts, the standard is High chrome Alloy(27% Cr), it can be used from PH 5 to 12, and its hardness can be to HRC65, which is a very good choice for slurry control and transport. But in some conditions, the PH may lower than 5, then we try to use A49, it can lower to PH4, mostly used in FGD processing, Tobee offers the full chrome alloy parts including A03, A04, A05, A06, A07, A12, A14, A25, A33, A49, A51, A61 etc.
